Firewater

The Golden Hour

Release Date: May 6, 2008
Label: Bloodshot Records

Description

Tons of albums get released every week, but very rarely does one ever come with a backstory like Firewater's The Golden Hour does. Depressed and wondering about his future in music, Firewater lead man Tod A (previously of Cop Shoot Cop) fled New York City to travel through the Middle East. Not exactly a getaway to Club Med for a mental health holiday. So instead of sandy beaches and beautiful women, Tod had to contend with kidnappers, foreign diseases, and other obstacles. Not only did Tod manage to survive, he also got some recording done with an international array of musicians. So expect the sounds of sufi and bhangra music woven into Firewater's usual energetic punk on The Golden Hour. Tamir Muskat, who drums in both Firewater and Balkan Beat Box, served as producer and mixer on the album.
