Fitting that Fall Out Boy’s newest record takes it’s name from a French term which translates as “a madness shared by two,” in that Folie à Deux is being released by a band whose existence and continued success seems to be generated by a collective mass hysteria held by the Hot Topic crowd. That said, it’s not just the black-clad and skinny jean’d who are flocking to Fall Out’s fifth, as the album boasts duets with Elvis Costello, Debbie Harry, Lil Wayne, Pharrell, and Panic at the Disco. Attracting a roster like that, this set of lyrical black nail polish must be either excellent enough to stand as the group’s high-water mark, or is shallow and muddy enough to necessitate the loads of extra ear-candy and prestige brought along by the special guests. Either way, you’re little sister’s gonna love it.
