The legendary U.K. guitarist’s 19th album, which is his first in a half decade, finds him reuniting with former collaborator (and girlfriend) Sheryl Crow. Clapton also reunites musically with his former Blind Faith band member Steve Winwood as well as guitarist Derek Trucks of the Allman Brothers Band, jazz trumpeter Wynton Marsalis and New Orleans icon Allen Toussaint. The songs will be a mix of new material and cover versions, including the pre-rock standards “Autumn Leaves” and “How Deep is the Ocean.” Clapton’s backing band will include J.J. Cale (whose songs he’s notoriously covered) as well as drummer Jim Keltner and bassist Willie Weeks.
