Table of Contents
It's not hyperbole to call Emmylou Harris a living legend. She's in the Country Music Hall of Fame and has long had crossover appeal far outside Nashville. On All I Intended to Be, Harris doesn't let all of this go to her head. She pulls on plenty of sources outside her own songwriting. Harris covers songs by Tracy Chapman, Merle Haggard, Patty Griffin, and Billy Joe Shaver. Guests on the album include Dolly Parton as well as musicians who have played with Elvis Presley and Little Feat. Kate and Anna McGarrigle co-wrote and performed on two songs on the record. All was produced by Brian Ahern, who worked on some of Harris's classic early albums.
