Elvis Costello & the Imposters

Momofuku

Release Date: May 6, 2008
Label: Lost Highway

Description

Tales of the compact disc's demise have been greatly exaggerated. Case in point: initial reports had this new album from proto-punk legend Elvis Costello only getting released in digital and (throwback alert) vinyl forms. While Momofuku (mmm, ramen) has been available on the old spinning black circle for a couple of weeks, it is now getting a release in that format that you can play using lasers. The album arrives thanks in no small part to Rilo Kiley's Jenny Lewis. Lewis asked Costello to help out with some songs on her upcoming second solo album. The two enjoyed recording together so much that they booked more time in the studio, out of which came many of the songs on Momofuku. Singer-songwriter Johnathan Rice, who has long been romantically linked to Lewis, also guests on the album.
