
Editors impressed fans and critics with their debut release, The Back Room, most notably with the single “Munich,” and the band was immediately compared to groups like Interpol and Echo & the Bunnymen. Follow-up An End Has a Start saw Editors stepping away from the catchier hooks and toward a slightly darker sound. On In This Light & On This Evening, that darker sound is explored to a greater extent. With haunting vocals and layered, nostalgic electronics, Editors draw more of their inspiration from bands such as Depeche Mode and Joy Division.
