Dressy Bessy

Hollerandstomp

Release Date: September 16, 2008
Label: Transdreamer

Abstract

Hollerandstomp sounds like it could be the name of a Tilly and the Wall album. And indeed, Dressy Bessy plays a brand of happy and peppy indie rock quite similar to that of Tilly and the Wall, minus the tap dancer as beat keeper. And Dressy Bessy has been going at it for a bit longer. This is the band's fourth LP, the follow up to 2005's Electrified. Dressy Bessy hails from Denver, and is connected to the Elephant 6 musical collective via guitarist John Hill, who also plays in Apples in Stereo. But it's vocalist Tammy Ealom who injects much of the infectious energy into songs like "Simple Girlz" and "Pretty Pleaze."
