Dream Diary You Are the Beat 

Two transplants bumped into each other on a crowded NYC street and discover they are coincidentally listening to the same Smiths album on their respective iPods. The two then meet a drunken drummer at a bar. A band was then formed. In spite of the twee-ness of this creation myth (at least that's how the record company told it), the story resonated with Dream Diary's romantic indie-pop. You Are the Beat was the group's debut album.
