Creed

Full Circle

Release Date: October 27, 2009
Label: Wind-up

Abstract

Full Circle, get it? It's not just a description of the album's emotional content, it's also a reference to the band's journey post break-up, that they undertook only to understand that they needed to get back together. Deep right? Good for them then, cause it's not like they couldn't have done their tour this year without any new material. I'm pretty sure that at any Creed show, all of the Stapp hounds spend the rest of the show stuffing their tongues back into their mouths after the opening chords of "Higher."

August 30, 2009 at 11:59 a.m.

omg scott stapp is singlehandedly going to usher in a new era of rock just in time for the new decade omg

August 30, 2009 at 3:13 p.m.

Wait, isn't Creed that band that used Christian rock to jump start their career before jumping ship to create completely commercialized "modern rock", the same "modern rock" that is killing rock & roll as we know it? Didn't the "inspirational" front man star in a porn with Kid Rock, in which he proclaimed himself "the king of the world"? You guys are all right Creed is soooo awesome.

September 13, 2009 at 8:41 p.m.

Tairy get off your f*cking high horse, they write and perform the best 'modern rock' songs around, when exactly did creed jump ship??? How the f*ck are creed killing rock and roll as we know it?Prick, come back with facts next time you wanna preach, if creed are so bad why are you in a creed forum in the first place, never mind slaggin them off, you is a f*ckin moron

September 23, 2009 at 3:44 p.m.

I hate all you idiots (Tairy, Tony) who always go around acting like Creed is a Christian band.... They have proclaimed MANY times in interviews they are a spiritual band not a Christian band....

Lyrics from "Signs"

"This is not about age
Time served on the earth doesn't mean you grow in the mind
This is not about God
Spiritual insinuations seem to shock our nation"

Mark Tremonti and Scott Stapp have constantly tried to let people know they are not Christian... Get your facts straight before you come on here looking like an idiot.

September 23, 2009 at 3:50 p.m.

hahahahah... Creed.

September 27, 2009 at 2:29 p.m.

I loved their first album, but their second was pretty ordinary and Weathered was just sad in my opinion.
If they could have made the kind of music that was on My Own Prison I would probably still be a fan,

October 6, 2009 at 11:49 p.m.

do not buy it,, it sucks there's 14 tracks does not sound like creed at all.........

October 7, 2009 at 9:42 a.m.

Hi
bro Icon't wait new album come on creed.

October 15, 2009 at 1:08 p.m.

@ Tairy Greene
Two frontmen from rock bands have sex with cheap groupies who have no self respect! oh no how immoral!!!!
This type of thing has been going on for years and has no effect on the bands or music they produce if your going to criticise one of the most influential bands of the past 20 years please come up with somethin slightly more relevant than the singer is a bad man because he got a blowjob off a slut (ps your a moron)

October 23, 2009 at 1:29 a.m.

OMG! i can't wait for Creed new album. They are the reason why I love rock soo much. Much love to you Creed<3<3<3

October 24, 2009 at 1:16 p.m.

I've just finished my first full audition of "Full Circle" and their sound has evolved but has that same quintessential sound that makes them a great listen. 5+ stand out tracks IMO. In short, I love it.

Never managed to see the band live before, so I guess this could give me the chance. I, for one, am delighted to see the band back together again and hope they can somehow 'co-exist' with Alter Bridge - who I really like too.

Now for a 2nd listen.....

October 25, 2009 at 1:03 p.m.

Worst band of all time. Over produced crap that all sounds the same. Not only that, but they've produces sound-a-like bands like nickelback and 3 doors down, etc. All this stuff is so musically horrible that it's astounding. Have fun with this one douche bags.

October 25, 2009 at 1:03 p.m.

All those who can't wait to get hold of Creed's Full Circle, I'm with you. I'm glad to have already heard it. Creed has always been my favoritest band. Be it compositions, lyrics, guitaring, drumming and vocals too; despite of all the bad mouthing that happens for Scott Stapp.

Full Circle - First impression: Oh My God this can't be them!

Full Circle - Repeated listening: Definitely not the best Creed can create but not complete garbage either.

Overcome and Rain are definitely the best tracks on the album. All the remaining tracks do not live up to the same standard. Other tracks which might end up showing up on most playlists (not that they are the best) could be
"away in silence"
"On my sleeve"
"Time"
"Full circle"

6/12 noteworthy tracks is not bad. However, Creed has been giving a lot more than a few mediocre tracks. If we compare Full Circle with their previous albums the full circle seems mediocre in all departments; be it Mark Tremonti's intricate melodious guitar solos or highest lyrical beauty, it is all missing in Full Circle. Scott Philips still manages to keep his class with the drums. Generally speaking all songs tend to look a lyrically amateur.

"A thousand Faces", "Good Fight", "the song you sing", Suddenly, fear and bread of shame are best unheard.

Full circle leaves you with this feeling,
the fact that creed reunited itself would have been a treat for all their fans. They didn't necessarily have to release an album along with their reunion.

Overall Star rating: 5/10

October 25, 2009 at 1:03 p.m.

Cool, but Alter Bridge is so much better.

October 27, 2009 at 5:52 p.m.

Ha, Alter Bridge would be better with Scot singing and keep having Mark write and compose practically everything.

Myles Kennedy sounds like a Wolf howling at the moon.

October 28, 2009 at 1:56 a.m.

Creed has to be one of the worst bands on the face of the Earth. They are a wannabe Nickelback which is incredibkt pathetic. This album is a disgrace to God. Creed uses the theme of Christianity to make people forget about how terrible their music is. Why couldn't they juststay retired? WHY?!?

October 28, 2009 at 5:08 p.m.

JoJo your a f*ckin tool, alter bridge piss all over creed! scott stapp and his ego should have stayed on that cocaine binge. even tremontis playing sound held back on creed albums, in alter bridge he is a guitar god and in creed he is just your average guitar player
ALTER BRIDGE RULE!!!!

October 29, 2009 at 4:20 p.m.

The new album is terrible, and they did a bad performance on Regis and Kelly. Sounds like easy listening, not like Creed's hard funky rock of the past

November 2, 2009 at 11:56 a.m.

Well, tt is finally time for for my opinion too. Creed has always, from the start been great with good songs and lyrics and more often than not, a good message just like Collective Soul, Some people are more easily persuaded by the critics and show their weak constitutions! If you don't care for any certain band, don't listen, don't buy! Everyone is human and we all have frailities!

Is this a bashing ground for mis-steps in human life? Crap, Amy Grant stole her current husband away from another married woman, and both are still doing great in the music field. Get over it! Just give credit due when it is warranted and it is definitely here on this album. It is almost euphoric and will take you "Higher:" if you let it!

Talk about 'clone bands"- Theory of a Dead Man is so close to Nickleback, they are hard to tell apart! "Meant to be" could be on a 3 Doors Down" album and you wouldn't know the difference. The thing is, they are a fantastic band in their own right and in some ways, better than the great band Nickleback, they are killer!. I know Kroegar wrote some and promoted them, but so have many others. Gene Simmons promoted House of Lords, which is friggn' great! Dokken promoted XYZ and even had them sound the same, still a great band.

Just listen to what it is, more great music. If ya don't like it- don't buy it or stop listening!

November 2, 2009 at 12:11 p.m.

I think speak for everyone, ever, that we were all just waiting for you reasoned opinion on here headknocker. Thanks for the info! Also, Theory of a Deadman: Boosauces. I am right there with you.

November 2, 2009 at 12:12 p.m.

This album straight up rocks. Great guitar work, powerful vocals, great songwriting. Music is subjective, but reviewers who are bashing this record are a little confused, or caught up in their hatred for the band to give it a true listen.

November 2, 2009 at 2:04 p.m.

Alter Bridge rock! Bring on the next album!

November 3, 2009 at 9:46 p.m.

So nice to see a mike in his hand instead of booze...Scott Stapp .. I love your voice, i love this band, i am one happy fan again!!!

November 4, 2009 at 7:46 p.m.

Overall the album appears much more abstract than their previous efforts. Also Mark Tremonti plays several heavy guitar riffs. Great album although definitly not their best. "On My Sleeve" and "Overcome" are perhaps the two most memorable singles on the album. I give the album an 8 because although it sounds great I find it less deep than their "My Own Prison" album and less entertaining than "Weathered", however it falls comfortably in between. Great album I would highly recommend it. And quite frankly how could you not be excited about such a talented band getting back together. Alterbridge was a great band but in my mind Scott Stapp delivers the vocals that paired with Mark Tremonti's amazing musical talent create a winning combination.
