Indie rocker Christy Edwards and Oberlin Conservatory graduate Emily Manzo make up this experimental Brooklyn-based psychedelic folk duo who have been releasing albums since 2007. Their third CD comes on the heels of their well-received last effort, Superstition, which came out in Aug. 2009. Unlike that album, which they put out on Big Print Records, No Rest is due out on the Klangbad label (their first album, Gueen’s Head, was released via the New York label The Social Registry. The duo is known for taking minimalist modern composition techniques and mixing them with pop songs; expect more of the same, since their newest CD was recorded with Hans Joachim Irmler of the influential German band Faust as producer.
