Normally when an artist says about their forthcoming album that "there truly is something for everyone to enjoy on the record," as Christina Aguilera has said about this release, it signals that the album's going to be a hodgepodge of piecemeal, awkward styles and themes. Perhaps fortunately, that quote was preceded by Aguilera revealing that she's working with Sia, Ladytron, Santigold, and M.I.A. on her new album. Hopefully, when Aguilera said "everyone," she just meant "people who like good music."

i like the way you interpreate her words... i've only listen some from goldfrapp and m.i.a. but they don't got me 100% but since they're only producing let's hear...

Arghhhh.... it seems as though everyone in the world is helping her on this album.. hopefully I dont turn gray before I can actually hear it!!!

I want her to make old stuff like from her 'Stripped' era.
With depth and meaningful lyrics rather than
over-computerized noise.

I wish these big artists like Christina Aguilera, Mariah, Madonna etc. would put out 2 or 3 albums a year and not keep us waiting years. If they are truly talented or at least have access to a talented team of writers they would do this. Beyonce is the closest to this putting out lots of singles at least and music videos and look how many grammys she won this year. These artist need to work a lot harder at giving the music fan's what they want most. NEW MUSIC NOW.

In an imploding industry, these artists are working their backsides off for relatively little return as opposed to the old days of, say, 1996. Twenty years ago, selling a million units would've been a commercial failure for an artist of Madonna's calibur, now it's a full-blown miracle. People steal music now, constantly. I don't think it's at all realistic to hope for more output. Mariah Carey's output is more prolific. However, it's difficult to argue that the quality of her work doesn't suffer some as a result and as evidenced by her early 00's albums, an intensive schedule and the physical toll it takes can cloud a girl's creative judgment. Madonna's output has been consistent for the past decade and most of it has been quite good. Releasing an album roughly every two years is more than most would expect from an artist who has been making records since 1982. Christina Aguilera is one of the rare younger mainstream vocal artist who approach their work as art and the product, in my mind, is always worth waiting for. I'm looking forward to this album and I'll gladly wait however long she takes to produce the next.

I like Christina. I like that she takes her time to craft something meaningful. I like the fact that she doesn't put out albums just for the sake of it (Britney anyone?) or to be able to make a video for EVERY SONG ON THE ALBUM (Beyonce' anyone?) If your previous aork was successful then you can take a couple of years to find the creative juices or to just find yourself. The days of a new album by a mainsrtream chick every other year is gone. With the exception of the aforementioned Mariah and Madonna, not too many others turn out something every few years anymore. They would rather wait and try to make it an 'event'. I'm looking forward to what Christina has coming. I don't care if it's a bunch of bleeps and whistles produced by Pharell and the Neptunes (which it isn't) or a bunch of computerized euro soounds (which it could be), the truth remains that she is one of the rare things in music today: a singer! So take the Ke$$ha's and the Gaga's and over play them all you want, I'm gonna wait for XTina to return.

Christina takes time cause she is a real artist. She writes (or co-writes) most of her songs. It's real music! Not some self-repeated commercial sh!t that has been made by a "hit-machine" in order just to sell (britney, gaga, beyonce). We all know that ooh ooh baby and womanizer are the same song, just like poker face and bad romance are, and if it wasn't for jay-z's magical masonic touch beyonce wouldn't be half as successful as she is. So, in order to hear some real music... i can wait... x
