Due to lack of promotion and no true radio smash, Chrisette Michele saw her 2007 debut, I Am, receive modest sales. But she wasn't about to stop recording or even leave her label, Def Jam, as she stuck it out to put together a Billboard chart-topping sophomore effort, 2009's Epiphany. Her success was the result of both catch singles and her willingness to provide hooks for bigger artists. The latter of those continued through 2010, when she began recording Let Freedom Reign and jumped on Rick Ross's successful “Aston Martin Music.” Michele's third album finds her singing songs of triumph, love, and loss with production assistance from Chuck Harmony, Harmony, and Ne-Yo.
