CHLL PLL is the latest entry into Zach Hill's (Hella, Diamond Watch Wrists, Nervous Cop, sometimes Wavves) extensive resumé. This time around his collaborative partner is Hexlove's Zachary Nelson. In this project Hill cuts down on his usual complex polyrhythms, and builds on Nelson's more downbeat, hypnotic synth parts, giving Aggressively Humble a chilled-out, west coast vibe. The sound may be more Hexlove than Hella, but this is still a Zach Hill project. Just imagine him moving his drum set from Sacramento to the beach.
