The collective surrounding CreativeControl/DD172 has amounted to more than just the BlakRoc album, slick videos, and scattered tracks. As shown on the Blakroc record, artists who might have never come together before are now collaborating. One of the first group's to emerge from the crew was Center Edge Territory. At first glance, this foursome of Mos Def, Jay Electronica, Stalley, and Curren$y seems like a bizarre lineup. A newcomer (Stalley), a former Young Money artist (Curren$y), a New York stalwart (Mos Def), and a lyrical wunderkind (Jay Electronica) joining forces to create a record? Would it work? Their self-titled debut will answer those questions, though teaser collaborations, such as Mos producing Curren$y's "Breakfast," have shown these guys are more than capable of working together.
