Carl Broemel All Birds

My Morning Jacket guitarist Carl Broemel steps aside from rocking arenas to turn in a mellow, acoustic-based solo effort. The gentle "Heaven Knows" suggests the album will still be guitar-based, but the musician's father, Robert Broemel, also joins the sessions to add some woodwind flavor. Describing the album, the artist says: "A lot of the songs are really just me talking to myself, trying to make sense of things in my head.” Expect "introspective" to show up in many reviews.
