    Camp movie soundtrack

Oh, how the mighty have fallen. Decca Records was once a label known for releasing Bing Crosby’s “White Christmas” and signing the Rolling Stones. Now, in the label’s latest reincarnation, it’s apparently putting out motion picture soundtracks, the latest of which, Camp, will keep gay high school students happy for years to come. In short, if you are active in your high school theater program, you will love Camp, with all of its Grease-like vocal harmonies and Fame-like attitude. The rest of us, however, are wondering why Oasis allowed Camp’s producers to include “Round Are Way,” not to mention the Replacements’ “Skyway.” I’m still trying to figure out the allure of this film, which was nominated for Sundance’s 2003 Grand Jury prize.
