Under unfortunate circumstances, the proverbial grind continues for rapper Bun B. Having launched a solo career out of near necessity when his UGK partner Pimp C was incarcerated, Bun must go for self once again out of circumstance in light of his partner’s passing. On paper II Trill sounds like any other mainstream-rap affair, with its litany of guest artists (Lupe Fiasco shares credit lines with more expected compadres Lil Wayne, David Banner, 8 Ball & MJG, et. al.). However, as the follow-up to both his 2005 solo debut, Trill, and his UGK swan song, Underground Kingz, the pressure is again on Bun to carry the torch. If precedent is any indicator, he should be up to the task.
