Olympia is Bryan Ferry's first album of original material since 2002's Frantic. The album is notable for reuniting all the original Roxy Music members (Brian Eno, Phil Manzanera and Andy Mackay) for the first time since 1973. The album also features a number of other high-profile collaborations with Chic's Nile Rodgers, Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour, Radiohead's Jonny Greenwood, Scissor Sisters, Marcus Miller, Red Hot Chili Peppers' Flea, Stone Roses'Mani and Groove Armada. Ferry wrote eight of the songs and covers two others: Tim Buckley’s “Song To the Siren” and Traffic's “No Face, No Name, No Number.”
“You Can Dance” and “Alphaville” are both leftovers from an aborted 1996 album called Alphaville (about half of which ended up on 2002?s Frantic.
