Shapeshifting British rockers British Sea Power return with their fifth album, which is said to take influence from artists as disparate as Lee "Scratch" Perry, Kraftwerk, and Serge Gainsbourg in an attempt to mix up their usual bookish indie rock. Lead single "Living Is So Easy" certainly reflects the shift in sound, riding on a steady electronic pulse while various keyboards chime in throughout. The band is quick to admit the lack of dancehall sounds on the album, instead taking the literary route, claiming that the album is their attempt to recreate whatever music might be playing in the Norse version of heaven, Valhalla.
