If anyone wondered if Justin Vernon's musical project Bon Iver was fresh out of wintry heartbreak after the freakishly compelling For Emma, Forever Ago, then the mission of Blood Bank, the project's new EP, is to let the fans know that the project's got at least four more songs worth of rippling, Wisconsin man-hurt. One of the great strengths of For Emma... is the monolithic solitude of the music, so maybe the challenge of Blood Bank is to maintain that same power in Vernon's first recording with a full band. Vernon's clearly taken a leaf out of either T-Pain or Imogen Heap's book, because the EP also features Vernon's first venture into Autotune territory with "Woods."

And come on, comparing Justin Vernon and T-Pain, in any sentance is just wrong. |
