Bob Dylan decided to follow up on the critical success of Modern Times and Together Through Life with a Christmas album. Christmas albums being what they are--almost always cheesy and almost never taken seriously--this was a somewhat puzzling decision, but Dylan has always been an inscrutable guy. And what do you know, it has actually garnered its share of positive early reviews. Dylan covers all the classics here, from jolly singalongs ("Here Comes Santa Claus") to downtempo ballads ("Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas"). All proceeds from the album will be donated to Feed America.
