Blue Giant Blue Giant

Comprising members of various Portland indie outfits--including Vive Voce (front folks Kevin and Anita Robinson to be specific), Swords, Golden Bears, and the Decemberists (sorry, not Colin Meloy folks)--Blue Giant released the EP Target Heart, a smart amalgam of country-tinged roots-rock, in 2009 on the tiny Amore!phonics label. However, the band caught the ears of the revamped Vanguard label, who offered Blue Giant a perfect home for its follow-up and debut full-length. The self-titled album also features a guest vocal turn from Sleater Kinney’s Corin Tucker.
