After releasing a steady stream of five records from 2002 through 2006, frontman Zack Wylde and Black Label Society took a break from the studio. Some members of the group utilized that time to work on side projects, such as bassist John DeServio starting up Cycle of Pain and Wylde touring with Ozzy Osborne. And in 2008, the heavy metal quartet was apparently ready to begin recording Order of the Black. But that studio session would get put off until early 2010, when the group banged out their eighth album in a matter of months. According to Wylde, the record, which he described as a symphonic masterpiece, features some of their heaviest and sexiest tracks imaginable.
