Clap-clap, clap-clap-clap, clap-clap-clap-clap, Bird Show! Sorry, I was having a flashback to that surreal Saturday Night Live skit "Dog Show." Back to Bird Show: It's the current musical project of Ben Vida, who, solo and in  groups like Central Falls and Town & Country, has made music for labels like Truckstop and Thrill Jockey. Vida plays a slew of instruments on this self-titled Bird Show release, the follow-up to 2006's Lightning Ghost. To list them all here would take up too much space, but one can get a sense of Vida's multiple talents from some of the album's instrument-referencing song titles. Tracks include "Two Organs and Dumbek," "Synthesizer Solo," and "Mbira, Harp and Voice."
