For his follow-up to 2009's Ambivalence Avenue, Bibio looks to continue expanding his always-growing sonic palate. The 12 tracks on Mind Bokeh, which I'm guessing is pronounced as "mind bouquet," feature the British producer again bouncing from one style to the next, with his favorite sounds being a blend of acoustic guitar-laden folk and sample-driven, hazy beats. He's got some ass-shakers on here, too, though, along with a track that apparently serves as his own tribute to Irish rockers Thin Lizzy.

After hearing the first 3 tracks I was super excited. Not so much after 3 more.. and decidely unenthused once it had ended. Off the cuff, first listen ... it seems pretty top-heavy (there are 1 or 2 tracks later on that will some require a couple more listens). It might be a grower but I doubt it. It's not like the tracks i didn't like had a whole lot of 'hidden depth' to them. Oh well
