Portishead producer and multi-instrumentalist Geoff Barrow is known for tweaking albums for years -- a fact that is highlighted by Portishead's extremely staggered release schedule. For Barrow's new outfit, Beak>, he's put some restrictions on the recording. Barrow formed the experimental group in January 2009 with two fellow Bristol musicians, Billy Fuller and Matt Williams. The krautrock and electronic trio's self-titled debut was recorded in a single room, without overdubs. They also penned the entire release over the course of one 12-day session.
