Tarzana, Calif. native Austin Brown comes from one of pop music's most notable families. His mother, Rebbie Jackson, is the sister of Michael Jackson and shares a musical past. As such, you can't blame Brown for wanting to pursue the same interests while he was growing up. Over the years, he learned how to play numerous instruments and produce records, with that work culminating in his proper debut, 85. Across the album, you can hear the influence of his family, especially his late uncle Michael. This is apparent especially in the vocals of Brown's lead single, “Target Practice,” which is also indebted to Justin Timberlake's Future Sex/Love Sounds.
