The Rawth EP represents a step toward Asher Roth's goal to reclaim his title as one of the underground's better new MCs. He fell out of favor with some of his fans after releasing his dull debut, 2009's Asleep in the Bread Aisle. The main reason for that is how it offered a more watered-down take on what made him so easily approachable. His well-studied delivery became a lazy drawl, for the most part, and the beats weren't terribly excited. But on this EP, he has teamed up with Nottz to craft a boom bap-inspired project with that clever lyricism and versatile flow Roth displayed on his buzz-worthy mixtapes.
