Hip hop has seen nearly every archetype in its long history, from b-boys to intellects to gangsters, but in proof that the genre is still finding new boundaries to explore even after 30-plus years, Asher Roth has created a new one: the party-loving college kid. The Pennsylvania MC first gained national attention from his 2008 mixtape with DJ Drama and Don Cannon, The Greenhouse Effect , which showed off his political side as well as his affinity for keggers and weed. The move to a major label hasn't appeared to affected his content one bit, as seen by the lead single, aptly titled, "I Love College." Featured guests on the album include Cee-Lo, Chester French, Busta Rhymes, Lil' Wayne, Keri Hilson and Jazze Pha.
Minneapolis hip hop is where it's at! Nerve and DJ Arkitekt a new group out of Minneapolis that performs a hip-hop indie rock fusion with an album set drop this summer. Having opened for national acts like Muja Messiah and Eyedea, Nerve and DJ Arkitekt are ready to win over new listeners every day.
