Review

In a January 2009 interview, Alexis Georgopoulos perfectly captured the essence of his solo project Arp: "I wanted to do something that had to do with a feeling I associated with the Mediterranean coast... Coastal imagery is so often associated with leisure and hedonism. I wanted to imbue that psychological environment with something more reflective. The moments one has alone in such places. When one feels the summer ending and autumn beginning...." Such introspection and connection to nature may be a shock considering Georgopoulos's past with the harder rocking/bustling Tussle. However, he continues to explore this warm and fuzzy feeling in his follow-up to 2007's In Light. And the Eno and Harmonia style analog synths continue to reverberate throughout.
