Review

Ariel Pink is the guy who put the "freak" in freak-folk, and judging by song titles like "Butt-House Blondies" and "Menopause Man," he has not let his freak flag drop to the ground on his first recording for the legendary 4AD label. While he does introduce his own twisted version of pop music now that he's been given a little more rope, Pink brings forth plenty of the fractured, lo-fi weirdness his fans have come to love. And with the wider distribution offered by his new label, the rest of the world might just catch on too.
