Arbouretum is singer/guitarist Dave Heumann's brainchild. The band's third full-length, Song of the Pearl, is a testament to a band in the state of flux. Always keeping the members evolving, Heumann's backbone is always full of life and his songs always blunt about life and its tribulations. The use of Corey Allender, Daniel Franz (sometimes with Beach House), and Steve Strohmeier swings Song of the Pearl in a less sparse direction -- composed of songs that would keep acid-folk and Richard Thompson fans happy alike.
