Apache Beat Last Chants

Much-hyped New York-based band Apache Beat may derive its name from Klaus Dinger's description of the prototypical, krautrock, "motorik" beat/feel, but the group writes contrastingly concise music. They redefine the expression to mean bongo fills and swirling guitar licks. Their long-awaited debut album arrives with plenty of expected high-profile co-signs: veterans Martin Bisi (Sonic Youth, Lydia Lunch) and John Agnello (Dinosaur Jr, The Hold Steady) work behind the boards, while members of Yeah Yeah Yeahs, the Rapture and Lightspeed Champion join the proceedings.
