R&B legend Andre Williams sang such classic songs as "Jail Bait" and "Greasy Chicken," worked with Ike Turner, and recorded for Motown. For his new album, he headed down to New Orleans, where he worked with a backing band that features many members of that city's hard-partying brigade, the Morning 40 Federation. On organ for the Hellhounds is another Crescent City oddball, Quintron. Bloodshot describes the raunchy rock 'n' roll these collaborators created as having "more grind in it than a 3 a.m. cup of diner coffee." This isn't the first time Williams has recorded with a band that has crossover appeal to young hipsters; his 1999 album, Red Dirt, was laid down with the Sadies.
