This North Carolina-California connection kicked things off with a bang in the widely lauded 3:16 The 9th Edition. Displaying an obvious knack for working together, the MC and producer hit the studio more and more as the years past. While some argue otherwise, the duo improved their chemistry with Murray’s Revenge and Sweet Lord, which they released for free as a sort of prelude to Murs’s major label debut, Murs for President. Rumors then swirled that the two were done after Sweet Lord. But that was short-lived as they hit the studio again after some quick time off to begin Fornever, their fourth album together. Information surrounding the record remains scarce, but it’s likely to be brimming with this duo’s tried-and-true boom-bap formula. Don’t be surprised if they deliver a curve ball on here, though, particularly when it comes to 9th’s production.
