On the last Thursday (25) of April 2013, U.K.'s Palma Violets lit up the east side of Portland at Holocene. Local band, Eidolons, kicked off the evening in the dark and intimate venue with their euphonic indie pop that gained momentum towards the conclusion. The energy amplified with New York's Guards, who just may have the prettiest hair collectively. By the time NME's Best New Band 2013 winner, Palma Violets, dominated the austere stage, fireworks went off. The roistering foursome's set ended with the role of the performer and the audience obfuscated. I'm pretty sure we were having more hoot than the strip club next door - a triple treat that many Portlanders missed out.
