Photo gallery of New York Magazine's 40th Anniversary featuring The National, Grizzly Bear and Stella (Michael Ian Black, Michael Showalter, David Wain).
The event was held on October 10, 2008, at Hammerstein Ballroom.
The National were terrible. I don't know when they decided that they're U2 but it doesn't do the intimacy and subtlety of Boxer much justice.

U2? What are you talking about? I thought the National were fine. If anything, they played TOO much off Boxer and not enough of Alligator. Wasn't their best show...but still impressive. I'm not into Berringer's new slick political look though.
Grizzly Bear was good while Stella bordered on horrible.
that's a lot of pictures of the national.
