it got shut down because of fire code violations, the promoter is being blamed for not selling seats and floor, just general admission making people pack an area that shouldn't be packed.
If they want to get away with a massive general admission sell-off, do it at a raceway, like Dallas did Rockfest 97, around half a million (est. 500,000, yeah) piled in that raceway without interference from any cops or firemen. Just a crazy ass clusterf@cked concert.

Yep, too many safety violations. People upstairs in the seating area didn't want to sit nicely in their seats (of course) and were blocking the stairs and jumping over the balcony to the dance floor because they couldn't find another way to get down there. It was a mess.
