This was a really fun (and loud) show. Nice pictures, Gabi. |

A great show. It was extremely loud. I love the venue and everything they do there, but I don't think they needed the sound system blaring quite so much before the band went on. Still, I accept the ear damage because Deerhunter were sooo awesome. |

Hey cool set. Hey I haven't been to this place yet! Is it a large venue? Similar to ????? |

@Johnmel - holy cow was it loud beforehand, I kept ducking out to "have a cigarette" just to get away from the bleeding ear inducing volume. Deerhunter were really awesome, their shows are so intense it's like an exhausting catharsis or something. Did you catch the Icelandic extravaganza beforehand? @Ed - Poisson Rouge is surprisingly large, actually. I should have posted the long exposure I took between the sets that show the space. I'm guessing a similar capacity to Hiro or Highline, but a rounder room. The lights are insanely weird, sometimes lots of it, sometimes none, sometimes spotlights right in your face (into the audience), constantly changing colors and temperatures, favoring blue/purple/green and sometimes red. I find it rather unnerving that there's such a cool space right across the street from the uncoolest venue on the planet (Kenny's Castaways). Thanks, everyone, for dropping by. |
