On The Long-Lost Dipset/Azealia Banks Beef

If you work the Azealia Banks beef beat like I do, you get a lot of work these days. Harlem’s swaggiest pugilist was quoted in Vibe about her audition for Dipset’s Juelz Santana and Dame Dash a few years back, and it seems that her penchant for pugnacity wasn’t something she acquired with fame. Remembers Banks:

“I was prepared to spit for Dame Dash, but he kind of just went ‘Nah!’ and walked away. Womp. Juelz looked at me like, ‘Whose little sister is here? Please get her the f*ck out.’”

Banks hasn’t been known to hold her tongue, and there’s definitely something admirable about her committment to realness. But it’s hard to tell if her reasons here are principled — like in her face-off with Iggy Azalea — or just irreverent. Let us know what you think in the comments. (Via All Hip-Hop)
