As many potshots as the Zune takes, it's nice that someone besides Apple still makes a hard-drive based player. Plus, it's easier to hack the Microsoft platform and get nice mods. Someone has a program to automatically convert different audio and video formats when you sync your Zune - so the Zune itself doesn't get changed, but it means you don't have to hunt down conversion tools. There's a long list of formats supported, one of them being DVR-MS for those folks using Windows Media Center to record programs: it's like Tivo to go, only for the Zune.
