Microsoft readies Zune 2, world stifles yawn

Yes fans, the new Zunes will roll out ... today! Or perhaps tomorrow. Actually don't expect to see them in stores until October 16th, but an announcement will be made shortly. You can expect a modified navigation button, a slimmer hard drive model, and two flash models including one featuring extra capacity than similar products.
The flash players are also rumored to have Wi-Fi, which is fantastic ... if the Wi-Fi really did anything. More important perhaps than the new players is new firmware that will bring the Zune 2's features back to the OG Zune. Despite some of Apple's problems with their new iPod line the Zune will need some new interesting tricks to get any kind of mindshare from the public.
