Pack up your troubles, young 'uns: the one-man metal juggernaut Zozobra is all set to unleash Bird of Prey on August 5 via Hydra Head. Once again spearheaded by Cave-In/Old Man Gloom boomstick operator Caleb Scofield, Zozobra's second album brings Isis drummer Aaron Harris into its wretched fold, which means double the Beantown metal bonus points. The leaked track "In Jetstreams" sure sounds promising. As in it promises to snap your spine. Especially Scofield's dehydrated roar, which turns every lyric into an apocalyptic pronouncement. Kind makes you wonder whether Scofield was being ironic when he named the band after a giant effigy that is set on fire in Santa Fe every September to represent the destruction of the previous year's worries.
