Move over Madonna and A-Rod/Jay-Z and Beyonce, there's a new music super couple in town. Zooey Deschanel, the excellent actor and arguably even more excellent musician at the head of She and Him, has gotten engaged to Ben Gibbard, Death Cab for Cutie's frontman and an excellent solo performer in his own right.

There had been rumors of Deschanel getting engaged to a musician circulating earlier, but they had previously falsely linked the Almost Famous star/Paste Magazine album of the year winner to AFI bassist Hunter Bergen. I'm not the biggest Death Cab fan, but I think I can safely speak for most of Prefix's readers when I call this a step up. Congrats to the lovely couple!
