NME is reporting that Beyonce and U2 are joining Coldplay as headliners of the 2011 Glastonbury festival.
U2 has long been speculated as a headliner for this year’s festival after the band canceled their appearance last year due to singer Bono having emergency surgery and Gorillaz replaced them on the bill.
Meanwhile, this will be Beyonce’s first time playing the festival after visiting it in 2008 when her husband, Jay-Z, performed. The festival is scheduled for June 24-26 at Worthy Farm in Pilton, England (the southwest side of the country for all geographically challenged Yankees). Those not interested in hearing anthemic pop vocalists every night of the festival need not apply.
