Young Jeezy questions Nas, asserts that hip-hop is alive and breathing
Via: Nah Right
During an appearance on Monie Love's morning show on Philly's 100.3 The Beat FM, Jeezy addresses Lil Wayne's recent comments about Jay-Z in Complex. Love then draws the Snowman into a convo about whether or not hip-hop is truly dead, and Jeezy gets heated and ends up going at Nas. Then he leaves the studio.

Young Jeezy? This idiot couldn't even spell his name without others to remind him. How can this illiterate moron even question Nas. His pathetic excuse for MCing is the ultimate contrabution to the demise of artists in hip hop. It's the same story the lot of these rappers have, just a different toilet....forget it, whats the point. :(

shaun

Sorry "Jeezy" Hip Hop has been dead for nearly a decade...and its not coming back

Rich

I like Jeezy's stuff, but he's talking crazy here. The new Nas record is hot.

Dave Park

the nigga jeezy rite if hip hop was dead why niggas selln albums and why the old cats wanna come bak using that as an excuse because these young cats gettn money and the cant stand that shit

lane

Is Hip Hop dead? Uh, let's see: Laffy Taffy, Chicken Noodle, Soup, Mike Jones, Franchize Boyz. YES! Hip Hop has been dead for over 5 years now.

Takia

They fucken crazy talking bout hip hop is dead and Jeezy was right. I like nas shit but these old cat's need to respect the fact that there is evolution in rap like everything else. Shit change homie. Me being a rapper if feel these nigga's need to kill they self for even thinking that shit. Most NY rappers never respected anything that wasn't from them anyway I'm from the CHI I know that shit. Now that the south Holding it down they don't wanna give them the props they deserve.

Jay Jilla

Yo Jeezy ain't shit tha south ain't shit either. They make raps like they sex deprived and talk bout slinging crack all day. That shit is not hip hop. When cats from up north talk bout rap it has or had substance. Niggas from the south lucky they got in the game. It should stayed like what happened in '96 when Outkast got booed of the stage at tha Source Awards.Southern cats talk bout rappers how've passed and gone but really don't know nothing bout them. I've yet to see a southern rapper making joints thats real, Record sales are one thing the art form is a next, thats what makes cats like Jeezy sound ignorant on tha radio. What tha hell does guns have to do with hip hop. I know dudes wit less street cred who spit better than Jeezy. Shit Nas is better than Jeezy,He looks like a broke dowm rapper wit new money look like he been home putting away some beer and cheese burgers. An if u radio heads hear dis in Philly which is another state I love. Tell these cats I don't care who selling tha most records tha rap game is always here in New York. Alanta my ass!!!!Niggas ain't nice they bit off of so much LA style. I can't believe Snoop and Game do songs wit these dudes. They stole the West Coast style and ran wit it. An were did grills originate I don't think in tha south cause dudes use 2 rock em' in NY back in tha day they jus ain't pop off up here. The south is a recycled region taking other region shit and puttin' they twist on it 2 try and call it they own. Jeezy u beneath Nas a damn peasant jus no ya fad (Tha south) might have a long run but fads dide quickly!!! When they end and beside who tha hell storm out of an interview like a lil baby.An why he always getting on tha radio like he making sense. NY,LA,Philly,Detroit,Chi,NJ,That where tru hip hop lives not everybody be delivering it but those states produdce rappers how be bringing it. Soon it's gon be tha next golden age and nobody gon die in no North vs. South beef unless some southern dude go shoot somebody cause all we wanna do is bring those different elements of rap back and shut tha volume on these flashy I got money cats down.An word 2 jeezy u's nobody dude 1 album maybe 2 wit wat hip hop is lacking today they will probably be called u a great rapper but ya not dudes and stop switch up tha same type a beat for all ya singles.Yea!! An that all tha south is beats cats don't even be listen 2 ya lines jus chorus and tha beat. U dudes is lame and it's bout time I said something never come at my dudes Nas in ya life. You'll lead more young blacks to tha street and tha cemetry through ya wanna be gangsta persona then Nas ever will. An you got money so u know u ain't gangsta u donate to tha hood bet ya estate ain't in tha hood???? An neither will mine but I won't act like it is neither. You fake ass hustla snow melts jus like ya rap career will lil' nigga. Yo Philly I know this dude ain't serious!!! Real hip-hoppers U kno he ain't serious???? He a joke!!!!

King of L.I

Hip hop ain't dead.....I don't condone Young Jeezy or the Franchise Boys but with Jay-Z coming back and Nas album is on the way.....Lupe Fiasco, Papoose, Kanye hip hop is still very much alive.....it all depends on where your hip hop sources are......the radio has never been a very good source for good hip hop.....so if you want to keep hip hop alive for yourself.....STOP LISTENING TO THE RADIO!!!!

SYndRome

Jeezy is right it is a new time and day we can not compare hip hop from 20 and 10 years ago to hip hop today Its a new day and people art talking about different things and one more thing if hip hop was dead then WHY IS NAS comming out with another album????

jazz

I am still trying to understand what "first week numbers" have to do with the vitality of an artform. Hip hop isn't dead, but when most of the "artists" (and I use that term loosely) are more concerned with the first week numbers than the art that they produce, we have a serious problem. Why is it so cool to be proud of the fact that you are more a hustler/ trapper than rapper? If that is the case, then go back to hustling. This is not a geographic critique. Real artists always garner respect, regardless of where they hail from. The issue is that we have too few people interested in actually being artists. Folks just see hip hop as a means to the dollar. Hip-hop is not the hustler's retirement home.I love hip hop. I dont want the artists I listen to to brag about making a song in two seconds. That doesn't impress me. I dont want to hear artist who dont consider themselves such. Hip hop is certainly not dead, but the critique was very timely. and very necessary.

Brent

hip hops is and has been dead for sumtime...sorry jeezy but you aient good nuff 2 ressurect it..it takes a tru legend. i mean can any one of u imagine bumoing 2 jeezy in 10years time? illmatica came out like 10 years ago and up till 2day niggerz stil bump that shit..it takes a legen to ressurect hip-hop and thas exacyly what nas is doin..when u liten to his album u'll be like damn hp has really has been dead..one.

esco

Shaun, how can you say Jeezy can't spell and YOU can't seem to spell "contrIbution" correctly?....NE ways the problem lies in tha fact that hip hop is now based on street thugging and partying as opposed to lyricism and wit. There's nobody that we can blame for this, but artists and fans need to learn how to adapt to the new era and changes to hip hop like my nukka LL. Longevity is only acheived through adaptation.....www.myspace.com/jstryfe

FOR JEEZY TO EVEN SAY A STUPID CPMMENT LIKE THAT ABOUT NAS NOT KNOWING ANYONE IN THE FEDS OR LOCKED UP SHOULD ATTEST TO THE LACK OF KNOWLEDGE THAT JEEZY HAS ABOUT THE HIP HOP GAME. IF YOU REMEMBER NAS HAS BEEN IN THE GAME FOR ABOUT 16 YEARS NOW AND IS STILL MOVING UNITS ANS STILL BRINGING THAT MESSAGE ALL THE WHILE STILL HAVING KILLER LYRICS 16 YEARS LATER. I DOUBT JEEZY WILL DO THE SAME AND HE TALKS ABOUT NAS STREET CREDIBILITY? HMM WAS THAT SONG ONE LUV NOT DEDICATED TO HIS MAN IN JAIL? DID MEGA (CORMEGA) NOT WRITE BACK TO NAS WHILE HE WAS IN JAIL? DID LAKEY THE KID NOT DO 7 YEARS FOR ATTEMPTED MURDER AND NAS PUT HIM ON WHEN HE CAME OUT? HIP HOP IS NOT ALL ABOUT BUSTIN GUNZ AND HOW MANY DRUGS YOU SOLD BACK IN THE DAY OR HOW MANY BRICKS YOU MOVE BECAUSE YOU ARE BROKE FROM THE PROJECTS THAT WE ALL CAME FROM IT'S ABOUT STORY TELLING LYRICS, AND A LIFESTYLE. WHE NAS IS SAYING HIP HOP IS DEAD IT'S BECAUSE THE INDUSTRY IS SO SATURATED BY GIMICKS AND MONEY. EVERY VIDEO YOU SEE A HALF NAKED BITCH DANCING AROUND IN A THONG OKAY THAT'S KEWL AND ALL BUT DAMN NIGGA I SEE THE SAME BITCHES AND THE SAME SHIT NIGGAZ TALK ABOUT. YEAH IT HAS TO EVOLVE AND CHANGE BUT LOOK AT MCDONAL'S AND BURGER KING, AND WINTER FRESH GUM WHEN HIP HOP WAS TRYING TO BE BANNED BY THE GOVERNMENT...THEY FLIPPED IT AND CASHED IN ON IT NOW EVERYONE AND THEIR GRANDMA RAPS HELL YOU EVEN GOT SCOOBY DOO RAPPIN NOW AND THAT IS WHAT THE MEANING OF HIP HOP IS DEAD COMES INTO PLAY. THE INNOCENCE AND THE FRESHNESS OF BEATS,RHYMES, AND EXPRESSIONS, INOVATIVE IDEAS HAS BEEN LOST SO BY JEEZY SAYING WHAT HE SAID ABOUT NAS NOT HAVING STREET CREDIBILITY...HE USED TO BE A 40 BUSTA, HAD FRIENDS IN THE PEN AND IS A LYRICIST TO THE T. YOU HAVE YOUNG KIDS THAT DON'T EVEN KNOW HIP HOP STATING THEIR OPINIONS ABOUT PEOPLE WHO DAMN NEAR CHANGED THE FACE,TEMPO, AND STYLE OF THE GAME WITHOUT KNOWING THEIR HISTORY AND THAT RIGHT THERE IS IGNORANCE.

[...] The Prefix comment section is still buzzing about Jeezy calling out Nas last week on Monie Love’s morning radio show, but it seems it’s already time to put that debate to bed. Earlier today, Jeezy stopped by Hot 97 and effectively quashed the nascent beef, even hinting that he and Nas will soon tour together on a large-scale Def Jam tour next year. What a difference a week makes. [...]

» Young Jeezy and Nas now friends, tourmates

You can't blame the older cats for wanting to come back and get paid. They laid the foundation and didn't get Shit for it. Now they see people making big money from putting out BS. They figure they can put out the real product and get paid too. But the problem is today's fans don't relate with Hip Hop in a real sense. Everything these days is fabricated, duplicated and celebrated. Hip Hop has been dead for sometime now. It got hit in the club and later died on stage!

Cristoball

first off you gotta know what hip hop is to say it's dead, hip-hop is the four basic principles, mc-ing, b-boying, graffiti writting, and the element that started hip hop dj-ing, since when did selling crack and living in mansions ever represent real hip hop, even rakim the greatest emcee agrees that rap should turn back into hip hop, fuck young jeezy, d4l, young jibbs, nelly, bow wow, and the rest off them clowns they ain't hip hop

fuck fake hip hop

as a youth who grew up in bad neighborhoods, where serving drugs, robbing, gun clapping ect.. was at times nessesary to get out of a jam, but the purpose of doing that was to mouve on to better things (make enough money and get out the hood). ther is no sane person out the hoods who thinks thats a healthy way of living. Now u got these young rappers and some old, rapping about shit i did when i was 16 17 18 19 and dude's is mid 20's 30's misleading youth saying go ahead slang dope flip birds, dude's is still with there imature high school mentality, they need someone like nas as a dam role model. he went from grymmy to classy (seen it did it doen it. all grown up now). as your body grows so should your mine. listen.put the pipe down 4 a minut and grab a book u looser.

noahsmrtknowsbst

LOL! Who told dude that his music is hip hop just because he has homies in the feds. Low expectation having clown. Ha, I guess it's like Dave Chapelle said, "...when keeping it real goes wrong..."

Hot16

....why they gotta hate on jeezy...........dis nicca is da realest nicca n da rap game.......yall can keep hatin cuz i bet none of yall is makin moe bread den him........exactly.........he is right cuz these old kats is hatin cuz these new niccas cuz they makin more money than them rappin bout they life.............thet gotta jus stop hatin and step they game up....ya dig.......if not....too bad 4 ya

BamaBallin251

i like hip-hop. i'm fairly certain it's not dead. the nas record is good.

mk

Hip Hop is dead, theres not as much lyrical talent in rap like it used to be, especially with the south coming into the game, steadily rapping about the same shit: Grills, Busting Guns, Sipping Syrup and Bopping hoes. Im from Texas, and understand Nas's meaning of "Hip Hop is dead" True hip hop was Biggie, Tupac, Nas, Jay-Z, NWA, Public Enemy, and RUN DMC. How many southern rappers say a rap without saying something about the four topics mentioned? Listen to a southern rapper, and then listen to Nas or any of the old tracks by the rappers I mentioned, you will see the major difference im talking about. First difference, the older rappers made sense in their rap, and usually made their rap out of a story or reality, but now with south ahold of rap they don't rap about shit. If jeezy saw my comment, he would be hard headed and arrogent, what the hell is a trapper, its rap or nothing, not trap or die, fake niggas these days "All for Money"...You'll understand my reasoning.

Round2

i agree that there are more crappy emcees around these days, but there are also plenty of good ones out there now, too. vakill is amazing. the clipse have lots of tired content, but even that they do extremely creatively. z-ro is a great lyricist, too. you definitely have to wade through more crap, but there are gems out there.

mk

i'm really liking sway's record, too...some people don't give UK hip-hop its due.

mk

mk, check out the akala record... almost as good as sway

[...] TSS: What do you feel about people who do use street credit as kind of a resume point? Because, you know, recently Jeezy '' and obviously I'''m not trying to drag you into this, I'''m just using it as an example but '' Jeezy said that Nas ''"don'''t buss his gun''" and ''"what Nas know about street cred''" when talking about the whole Hip Hop is Dead argument''¦ [...]

The Smoking Section » TSS Presents Smoking S

Jeezy is talking pure ****, regardless of whether hip hop is dead or not whats that got to do with Nas bussing his gun? Dude sounded like a fool.

Bardot

Young Jeezy needz to alteast listen to the track Hip Hop is Dead if not the whole album itself. What is nas refering to? COMMERCIAL DJs shittin all ova the hip hop scene! u got hip hop being mixed with dance and trance....WOT THE F*CK? so is Young Jeezy trynna justify and defend commercial DJs? Hes trynna be clever and be rebelious against a verteran, such as Nas, so he gets some attention. But the dum doo doo brain dunno dat hes in a way helpin commercial DJs and artists win!! so he talks about NAS having no street cred? how oldz NAS? and how oldz Jeezy? u get me....When Jeezy was shottin $10 worf of skunk....Nas was earing BIG paper for his hard work as a lyricist and gettin out good music. So Jeezy....take my advice learn from yo verteranz.....not challange them. Atleast wait a good decade to become stable enough to challange da BIG BOYZ in da game. Jus coz u shot COKE dont mean u hard bredwin!! If Jeezy a street ni**a den he should be street smart aswel!! Nuff said!! blessss

Ace_A

Hip hop is quite weak...Jeezy did not carry his arguement too well. He sounded ignorant and niggerish, like the fans who made comments in his favor. Rap is NOT the only element, clearly many of u forgot the 4 elements of hip hop the elements that make it wat it is HIP HOP. U discuss bout rap alone, since rap has become so much bigger and "lyrical wit" has become so much weaker, cuz dudes just know hustle talk and mansions IT PROVES that hip hop is dying if not dead. Graffiti is very much hard to find like a black man in the ghettos of Japan. B-boys are still exsistant but hard to find due to dance groups who only know how to snap their fingers. Djing to me is fine. Its just RAP has grown too much and its not lookin good either. Nobody is talented, back then rappers had talent, most that came out. There still dudes out there who are living the hip hop life style tho, so Imma say hip hops still alive just in trauma unit right now. Jeezys comment towards the end just proved the point of hip hops state.

Daniel

>Agreed 100% There is no more creativity in hiphop lyricism today. Don't listen to the radio.

the new z-ro was corny.

Grandmaster Omnis

Hey Daniel I'm a DJ, I mostly focus on Dance & Trance like you mentioned, it's Electronic Dance Music btw, because there are so many different Genre's in it.But to say that its our/my fault...I've been listening to hip hop since way back when, there's no way I'd throw tribe, de la, fugees and talib in with some tiesto, ferry corsten and paul van dyk... you just don't do that.No nas was talking about people LIKE young Jeezy...If you listen to his song "Hope"rappers who are like "Why Is Hip Hop Dead", It's a pretty good chance UR the reason it Died man is his reply, you don't give a **** about it, u don't know anything about it.(I find that from the interview...Jeezy really knows nothing about Hip Hop)rappers who say "I'm a Hustlah not a Rapper" he says get ur paper man, but this rap shit is real...*****I'm suprised more rappers aren't coming after him because i can think of a couple who use that line :pLive hip-hop live, (Stay) live hip-hop liveGive hip-hop give, give hip-hop giveStay hip-hop stay, (Live) stay hip-hop stay (Live)I pray, hip-hop pray, I pray hip-hop stays1

Steeve

Good point made Steve.... ill have to give u that!! i aint got nuffin against Electronic Dance/Trance and that whole genre!! it is just people lyk jeezy coming to the hip hop game!! u got 50 cent.... den u got jeezy!! both jus have a sh*t load of good beats but der flow is WHHHHHAAAACCCCCCKKKK!! u got rappers and lyricists in the UK dat r more talented den Jeezy!! rappers r not gangsters or drug dealers.... dey speak on behalf of dem!! so jus coz yo coke deals flopped dont mean u can start rappin!! same goes for RICK ROSS!! Hustlin woz a big track no doubt.... but das jus all 2dimentional!! NAS is a 3 dimensional rapper!! peace!!

Ace_A

grandmaster omnis is crazy in the head. i will grant that some of those hooks are a touch corny, but overall that's a great album.

mk

This is Easy....If you was making money one way, then a new thing came along and took your clients wouldn't you try to say that shit is weak to get your paper back up. Hip Hop aint dead it evolved...only the strong survive and if you cant get with it then you're a dinosaur. Its just new things to talk about. Crack wasnt around when Hip-Hop first jumped off. now booth time cost so much and beats are so high dope boys are the only people with the time and money to afford it. After they make it big they change what they talk about. Example Hova went from reasonable doubt to Big Pimpin. I aint about these ol' heads tellin us what we should talk about monie 36 she old like them dudes. tell them to reach our generation 16-25 they cant do it cuz they aint livin how we live. They might have been around when it started gettin big but we are hip hop future.. this is our struggle and our stories. You can Listen or turn it off. Every song aint gotta be a life story, we have fun to in hip hop. Yeah we Chicken Noodle Soup. But the ol heads was doin the cabbage patch, roger rabbit, the doug e. fresh. So dont get made at us for livin and tryin to get out the hood support us so that new rapper can have the opportunity to get out the hood, come back and show us sumthing new to motivate the new youth so hiphop can keep livin.STOP BEEFIN... Old head mentor sumbody and stop tryin to be in the game!!!

CapCity

Hip hop aint dead, and **** ANYBODY that says it is. stop ****** with this fluff ass mainstream hip-hop(still a few good mainstream artists) and listen to cats in the underground and youll see hip-hop has and always will be alive and well. It aint about "shine" its about spittin heat with a purpose and meaning regardless of the content of your rhyme. dont judge it by whats popular, trash has been selling since the first time fresh prince won the grammy over Public Enemy. popular music does not define what hip hop is. youd think someone like nas would understand it, years ago he may have, but hes a pop sensation now as well, who just a few years back finally got back in the right direction. go back to Nastradamus and tell me that was hot, LOL. yes, jeezy is whack(IMO), but yes he is hip-hop as much as anyone else. and i respect what he had to say prior to going off on nas about street cred and all that cornball goofy shit. if you can spit you can spit. period!!! point blank!!!

Gio

Mane, I'm from the south and listen to it all and for someone to say hip hop is dead, should be dead, who can really define hip hop, no one! that **** is a movement of talent doing something diffrent that was called rap, or shall I say hip hop and now the exact same thing is happening but instead of the introduction of hip hop ****** is creating diffrent styles of it so I feel hip hop never died, that shit just morphed, and changed and now the old heads in the game is starting to feel like what they did is old so to maintain there work they throw shots at the industry saying hip hop is dead when in all actuallity it is not just there style. so they want others to come out with styles simular, that way they will not be yellin hip hop is dead they would be yellin stop jackin my style. ALREADY HOLLA AT YA BOY SIR CLEVER

sir clever

Hip Hop is not dead... Oh, nevermind.... NYC or the North has no hits and nobody is feeling their style so I guess it is dead... I forgot that the rap music world revolves around NY and their style is the only style since they are the gods of Hip hop.. Tell me, Oh gods of hip hop, what do you want us measly earthlings to rap about?

Chrisfrmatl

Yo mad Props to the radio Vj for goin at Jeezy like that! damn. That lady wont let nobody change her opinion, and props to jeezy for not punchin that lady or walkin out the interview cuz thats what i woulda done.(sorry) But anyway not all of hip hop is dead. West Coast hip hop is alive, NY hip hop is alive, Southern hip hop is somewhat dead, like artist in the A who's puttin out that snap, lean, pop, club ******** need to take there corny ass records and shove up there asshole cuz we've heard enough of that. We need more southern artist like T.I., Jeezy, Ludacris,Lil Wayne and ect to bring back the south.

JR

Young Jeezy needs to shut his 5th grade educated ass the f*** up. Who gives a shut if Nas is "in the streets" or has friends in the feds?!?!? That is coon sh*t!!!! Why would your crack baby ass try to brag about that. Jeezy is everything that is wrong with hip hop.Nas brought the streets of QB to the world like none other. Allow a man to grow. WE NEED GROWN MEN IN HIP HOP.He can't beef with Nas but rather beef with Nas's album title.

larrybello nima ghana

THIS **** IS TOO CORNY EVERYBODY WORRIED ABOUT NAS'S COMMENT AND HIS ALBUM TITLE FORGET THAT ALL HE WAS SAYING WAS THE WAY HE FEELS ABOUT HIP HOP AND WHAT HIP HOP IS TO HIM IS NOT ALIVE ANYMORE. IF ANYONE FELT HURT BY THAT THEN THEY ARE THE REASON IT IS DEAD FOR NOT KEEPING IT REAL AND WHEN I SAY KEEP IT REAL I MEAN STOP TALKING ABOUT HOW MUCH MONEY YOU HAVE AND WHAT YOU CAN DO AND SEND A MESSAGE BUT I GUESS ALL THESE RAPPERS ARE TOO COOL FOR THAT HUH? AND IT'S NOT THAT RAPPERS IN THE SOUTH ARE NOT RESPECTED BECAUSE CLEARLY THEY HAVE SOME SORTY OF RESPECT LOOK AT THE RECORD SALES IT'S JUST THAT THEY HAVE A MOVEMENT AND SOME OF THEM FOCUS ON THE ICE AND MONEY SO MUCH IT'S TARNISHING THE ESSENCE OF HIP HIP WHEN IT'S NOT ALL ABOUT MONEY AND WHAT YOU HAVE IF YOU COME FROM THE GHETTO RAP ABOUT GETTING YOUR PPL OUT INSTEAD OF HOW MUCH MORE MONEY YOU HAVE THAN THEM. THAT'S WHERE YOU LOSE RESPECT. I RESPECT RAPPERS FROM THE SOUTH FOR GOING OUT AND GETTING THERES WHEN THEY WERE NOT NOTICED BUT DONT TAKE AWAY THE MEANING OF HIP HOP WITH TOO MANY COMMERCIAL SONGS AND GIMMICS AND DONT GET ME WRONG THE EAST IS PART OF THE BLAME ALSO FOR LOSING SOME OF ITS ESSENCE THE EAST NEEDS OR NEW YORK FOR STARTERS NEEDS TO STOP BEEFING WITH EACHOTHER WITHIN ONE CITY AND UNITE STOP BEING CONCERNED ABOUT OTHER REGIONS AND DO THEM THAT'S WHAT MADE THE EAST SO POPULAR BACK THEN THEY LOST THAT SO NOW THE SOUTH GETS THIER CHANCE TO EAT BECAUSE THEY ARE STICKING TOGETHER MAKING MUSIC IF THE EAST WANTS IT BACK STOP COMPLAINING BLAMING EVERY OTHER REGION FOR THE FALL OF HIP HOP AND STICK TOGETHER SO YOU CAN START MAKING REAL MUSIC AGAIN.

Q

young jeezy is whack!! End of that. Nas is a legend of the game. Secondly, Stop sayin the south killed hip hop. That are rappers from the north that a whatck too( ...cough cough Mims) yes hip hop has evolved but shouldnt stuff evolve for the better??

j

wat the fuck is this? some rap debate room? 3 things people1. Hip Hop is dead. Rap is NOT dead.2. Hip Hop is that dance **** that u hear on the radio. Rap is wat u dont hear.3. Young Jeezy doesnt do hip hop. He raps. It doesnt have to rhyme. Quite simply, he is one of the best, despite wat any "Critic" has to say.

Damn it

Jeezy is garbage, pure fat garbage. He aint that much younger than Nas either (like one or two years younger)so they both grew up listening to the same artist. One is actually an artist and the other is the "industries" ho.

I don't understand anything these new cats are doing. It's obvious now that any idiot with a hook can push records, and yeah hip hop is dead its been dying since the mid 90's.

The Bull

the south aint kill $h1t but versus but I feel everybody bein tired of dat snap&pop stuff but New york aint reppin right either I wanna hear more joel ortiz, papoose etc and sheezy iz a comercial lil B#TCH but we still got Trick Daddy B.G. Probably the bigger part of the problem is those who grew up on old school and are now exposed to the new stuff. Comparing the 2 is like comparing apples and oranges. I am old school myself and try as i might I can't get into such negative derogatory lyrics that celebrate being ,acting, and living so stupidly wasting a life away.Fact of the matter it has been a slow painful slide down as far as content, lyrics and just plain creativity. Today's "stage shows" consist of your favorite "rapper" yelling at distorted levels (usually while out of breath) with 10 other unknowns onstage repeating his/her missed lyrics while a backing track of the actual song is playing in the background anyway. Celebrating drug use/abuse, downing
women and glorifying shooting people is not the evolution of an art form as (hip hop used to be known) but its down bringing and destruction.

Rap used to be proactive and have a positive slant even in the dark songs that had no happy ending or stories to tell. Now it is repetitive lame beats with lamer rhyming by artist who feel they have to subject us to their offshoot members who have a CD out just because their boy made it and they think people want to hear from them too (most don't). Everything does change but this case it is for the worst with the parties involved believing they are advancing the music......funny how they stand behind their "music" but when later on in life when their kids are older will they look back on what they produced with pride in the work
they put in or tell them to turn it off? Making the money because the money is out there to be taken is the same rationale that got Wall Street into trouble.....just because someone pays you well to be a fool dosen't make it a good job.
