When you’ve got a flair for melodrama as big as Patrick Wolf’s you need to be able to play enough instruments to back it up. This is maybe why, according to Wikipedia, Wolf plays violin, viola, guitar, piano, harp, ukelele, mandolin, harpsichord, clavichord, clavinet, organ, autoharp, harmonium, accordion, theremin, and spoons. Oh, did I forget mountain dulcimer?
If you want a piece of all of that knowledge, this is your chance; Announced via Myspace blog post, Patrick Wolf will choose two fans, one guy and one girl, to receive a music lesson from Wolf in London this June. If you want to be in the running, you have to send a video of yourself playing a song of your choice to firstname.lastname@example.org. The winners will be chosen by Wolf himself.
If you want to take a look at the competition thus far, entries are streaming at this Youtube channel. So far, I prefer the girl playing the toy piano; that’s a tricky instrument to master
