At 77, the legendary Yoko Ono is still making art, still traversing the globe, and still answering questions about John Lennon and the Beatles. In an interview with the U.K.'s Daily Mail, she denies, coolly and for the millionth time, any real part in the group's breakup: "...my small hand could not have broken these men up." So what did it, then? According to Ono: "They broke up because they had reached an end..." Tautological, yes, cryptic, definitely, but also one of the better answers I've heard.
The interview, published only weeks after the 30th anniversary of John Lennon's tragic death, finds Ono discussing aspects of her relationship with Lennon, and, notably, imagining how the late musician would react to Earth circa 2010. For one, "He'd love the internet and Twitter. He’d be sending out pronouncements and messages and giving his opinion all the time on everything." Definitely plausible. She then goes on to assert that "John would have loved [Lady Gaga], because she's an artist, she's fearless and she pushes every limit, which we both always adored." Every limit? Don't know about that. But certainly Lennon would have gotten a kick out of that meat dress.
Why is she still defending herself about breaking up the Beatles. She is no good. Soon she is gonna have to defend herself that she is a fraudulent theif!!!!!!!!111
