Yo La Tengo are a band full of traditions. One is putting on an annual benefit for WFMU in which they set up camp in the radio station's studio and take phoned-in requests for songs to cover. Another has been playing an eight-night stint at Maxwell's in Hoboken over Hannukah. But alas, this year 'tis not to be. Georgia, Ira, and James say, "We have concluded that our touring schedule is such we just wouldn't be able to put together a lineup as Hanukkahriffic as years past. Was the refusal of the cast of 'The Times They Are A-Changin'' to take part the last straw? Really, is there anything to gain in assesing blame? But yes, it was." I say blame the Europeans, as Yo La can be found most of the rest of the year touring haunts across the pond. Damn Euros. I am not afraid of them and I will beat their asses.
