Yo La Tengo Plans Crazy, “Experimental” Tour

When you’ve been in a band for 26 years and touring regularly throughout your existence, odds are you’ve seen pretty much everything. Not that alt rock veterans Yo La Tengo are necessarily bored, but when you’ve learned every cover song you’d ever want to play, things can get a little…stale?

That’s why it comes as no surprise that Yo La Tengo’s early 2011 tour takes a tired formula and adds a little twist: a wheel of fate. That’s right, the first 45 minutes of every show will be decided by chance, or if you’re religious, by the Lord Almighty himself. You could hear the band’s garage alter-ego, Condo Fucks, or not. You could watch the band and audience act out a classic sitcom, or not. You could even hear a 45 minute of songs with names in their titles, or not.

The options and a full functioning demo wheel are available on the band’s website.
